
Welcome to this Web-Based Module on Formative
Assessment and Feedback.
Here is some background information for
those who might be interested in studying the module.
The key characteristics of the module are that:
- It has been designed for teachers employed in higher education.
- It is part of a wider programme of modules offered by CAP
- It takes place over a twelve week period and it is scheduled around 5 milestone
learning activities or tasks
- The milestone activities require that participants engage in online conferencing:
you are asked to post information (e.g. summaries, arguments and questions)
to a web page and respond to other participants' postings.
- Some face-to-face meetings will be requred offline in small groups to collaborate
over a task.
- Participants are asked to read research literature on this topic - both
paper and web-based
- Contributions to the milestone activities (i.e. postings) will form part
of the assesment as well as a final report.
- Grading will be on a satisfactory-unsatisfactory basis.
