Welcome to this Web-Based Module on Formative Assessment and Feedback.

Here is some background information for those who might be interested in studying the module.

• It has been designed for teachers employed in higher education.

• It is part of a wider programme of modules offered by CAP
  
  
• It takes place over a twelve week period and it is scheduled around 5 milestone learning activities or tasks

• The milestone activities require that participants engage in online conferencing: you are asked to post information (e.g. summaries, arguments and questions) to a web page and respond to other participants' postings.

• Some face-to-face meetings will be requred offline in small groups to collaborate over a task.

• Participants are asked to read research literature on this topic - both paper and web-based
  
  
• Contributions to the milestone activities (i.e. postings) will form part of the assesment as well as a final report.
  
  
• Grading will be on a satisfactory-unsatisfactory basis.
