Task 5: Application of formative assessment and feedback theory to teaching practise.

Purpose

To provide an opportunity to critically analyse feedback processes in your own teaching and make recommendations for improvements.

Task

Identify an area of feedback in your own teaching practice and devise a strategy for improving the effectiveness of the feedback. Use the feedback model discussed in Task 4 to help you think through this task.

Assessment

The assessment for this task will be a reflective report of 2000 words which should be emailed to the tutor Dr David Nicol. This report should describe the teaching situation under scrutiny, analyse the problematic issues in relation to the research on formative assessment and suggest some strategies for improving practice. Your analysis and recommendations should be supported by critical reference to the literature.
